What Is Baccarat and Why Is It So Popular in Malaysia?
If you've ever stepped into a land-based casino in Malaysia, you've probably noticed that the baccarat tables are always packed. Baccarat is more than just a card game – it's a social experience that blends simple strategy, high excitement and a fair shot at winning. At Bolaslot, we bring the full experience straight to your screen — no queues, no dress code required.
It's no surprise that baccarat is hugely popular among Malaysian players. The game is known for having one of the lowest house edges of any casino game – just around 1.06% for the Banker bet and 1.24% for the Player bet. This means your odds of winning are among the best compared to other casino games. That's why Bolaslot focused on delivering a premium live casino baccarat experience for local players.
How to Play Baccarat – A Quick Guide for Beginners
Baccarat is actually one of the easiest casino games to learn. The objective is to predict whether the Banker's or the Player's hand will have a total value closest to 9. Here are the basics you need to know:
| Card | Card Values in Baccarat | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Cards 2–9 | Face value of card | 7♠ = 7 points |
| 10, J, Q, K | 0 points | K♥ = 0 points |
| Ace (A) | 1 point | A♦ = 1 point |
| Total exceeds 9 | Take the last digit only | 7 + 8 = 15 → 5 points |
Each round begins with both Banker and Player receiving two cards each. Depending on the initial values, a third card may be drawn according to fixed, pre-set rules. Players do not need to memorise these third-card rules — the system Bolaslot handles everything automatically. All you need to do is place your bet and watch the results unfold.
Types of Bets in Bolaslot Baccarat
On the Bolaslot, you can place multiple bet types within a single round of baccarat. Understanding each option is key to getting the most out of your gameplay:
Player
A bet that the Player hand will win. Payout 1:1 with no commission deducted.
Banker
The most popular bet. Banker wins more often. Payout 1:0.95 (5% commission).
Tie
A bet that both hands will finish equal. Rare, but the payout is exceptionally high.
Dragon Bonus
A side bet that pays based on the winning margin. The bigger the point difference, the higher the payout — up to 30:1.
Super 6
Banker wins with a value of 6. No commission is charged and the payout is 12:1 for Super 6 bets.
Player Pair
The Player's first two cards form a pair (e.g. 7♠ and 7♦). Pays 11:1 if correct.
Banker Pair
The Banker's first two cards form a pair. Odds and payouts are the same as Player Pair.

Common Baccarat Strategies Used by Malaysian Players
Baccarat is largely a game of chance, but there are approaches that can help you play with more discipline and reduce the risk of heavy losses. Keep in mind, no strategy can guarantee a 100% win rate — the purpose of any strategy is to help you manage your bankroll more wisely.
Follow the Road Map – In baccarat, past results are displayed in a visual format known as road maps, such as the Big Road, Bead Road and Big Eye Road. Many Malaysian players read these patterns to make predictions about upcoming outcomes. While they don't guarantee any result, they help you stay focused and avoid betting at random.
Flat Betting Strategy – Wager the same amount every round without increasing or decreasing your bet size. This is the safest approach to extending your session and avoiding large losses in a short period of time.
Avoid Betting on Tie Too Often – While an 8:1 payout looks attractive, the house edge on Tie is extremely high (over 14%). Experienced players at Bolaslot typically place a Tie bet only occasionally as a side wager, not as a core strategy.
Set Loss and Win Limits – Before you play, decide how much you are willing to lose and how much you want to win. Once either limit is reached, stop playing. Self-discipline is the key to long-term success at any baccarat table.
Bet Banker Consistently – Purely by the numbers, the Banker bet carries a slightly higher chance of winning than the Player bet. Many professional players stick to betting Banker consistently because of its lower house edge.
At Bolaslot, we also offer a trial (demo) mode for new players who want to practise without using real money. It is the best way to get comfortable with the flow of the game before betting with real MYR.
